Aon, a global professional services firm specialising in risk, insurance, retirement and health solutions, has expanded Denise Perlman’s role to include serving as Executive Managing Director (EMD) and Middle Market Segment (MMS) Leader for Reinsurance.
This expands her responsibilities in addition to being Aon’s representative in the Integration Management Office (IMO) for the firm’s proposed acquisition of USI.
In her expanded role, Perlman will help middle market insurers grow, strengthen their distribution strategies, and emphasise differentiation in a competitive market.
She will also support strategic client engagement and industry thought leadership.
As Aon’s representative on the IMO Leadership Team, Perlman works with leaders across Aon, NFP and USI to prepare for the close of the transaction and the opportunity to establish the premier US middle market platform.
Previously, Perlman served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Middle Market for North America, having joined Aon in 2025. Before this, she served as the President for National Business Insurance at Marsh McLennan Agency, LLC, leading growth, specialised industry practices and developing differentiated products and programs for small and mid-sized clients.
She began her industry career in 2002 at Markel Corporation, and held increasingly senior leadership roles.
Steve Hofmann, CEO of Americas, Reinsurance, commented on the appointment, “The U.S. middle market continues to be one of the most compelling growth opportunities in the insurance sector. Denise brings a unique combination of leadership, market insight and industry relationships that will help insurers navigate an increasingly competitive marketplace.
“By bringing together her expertise with Aon’s broad capabilities, we can help clients identify new opportunities for growth, strengthen their market position and drive greater differentiation. Her leadership will further enhance how we support insurers in achieving their strategic objectives.”
Perlman added, “This expanded role creates an opportunity to work more closely with insurers and insureds across the middle market. By bringing together expertise from across Aon, we can help organizations identify growth opportunities, strengthen distribution strategies and make better business decisions.”
