Global re/insurance broker and risk advisor Aon has announced the appointment of José María Navas as chief claims officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In his new role, Navas will lead the firm’s claims organization in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, overseeing strategy, advocacy and claims readiness capabilities to help clients navigate an increasingly complex claims environment.
He will further develop Aon’s claims capabilities across the region, including adopting the company’s recently expanded global claims platform, Aon Claims Copilot. The platform combines claims data, analytics and digital claims management tools to enable colleagues to deliver more consistent, insight-driven results for clients throughout the claims lifecycle.
Navas will report to Luca Tassarotti, Head of Commercial Risk EMEA.
He has nearly 25 years’ experience at Aon, most recently as Chief Claims Officer Spain, leading a team of 120 professionals providing all claims-related services to policyholders.
Prior to this, he led Aon’s construction and infrastructure business in Spain and served as Executive Director of Aon Consulting Services, SAU (Asevasa).
During his tenure in Spain, Navas played a key role in developing enhanced claims servicing capabilities to support clients through complex and large-scale losses, while strengthening insurer relationships and operational delivery.
