Global insurance intermediary platform ANV Group has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Assured Underwriting Group Limited (AUG), a specialist MGA that provides insurance-backed financial protection products to tour operators and the travel industry in the UK and Europe, from private equity firm Mobeus.
Founded in 1983 and headquartered in London, AUG is led by CEO Richard Watson and COO Walter McCulloch and serves more than 1,600 customers in more than 10 countries across Europe.
ANV describes AUG as the UK’s leading underwriter of insurance-backed travel bonds, with a growing presence in continental Europe including France and Germany.
As well as travel bonds, AUG reportedly underwrites financial failure insurance and provides a full advisory service to tour operators seeking advice on the complex regulatory and insolvency requirements of UK and EU travel.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval from the UK Financial Conduct Authority and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.
