Antares Global, an international specialty insurance and reinsurance group, has promoted Meera Rajoo-Oakley to the newly created role of Chief Actuary of Commercial.

The move aims to bring pricing, reserving and exposure management for Antares’ commercial division under a single leader.

In her new role, Rajoo-Oakley will report directly to Mark Graham, Commercial Chief Executive Officer for Antares.

Her remit includes bringing strategic oversight of the actuarial and exposure management functions across the business, which comprises Lloyd’s Syndicate 1274 and Antares Re.

Rajoo-Oakley has over 18 years of actuarial experience across the UK and international reinsurance and insurance market. She joined Antares Global in 2017 and has served as Chief Actuary of its Lloyd’s syndicate since 2020.

Prior to this, she held roles at Gable Insurance, Direct Line Group and Grant Thornton, and currently is also Chair of the Committee of Actuaries in the Lloyd’s Market.

Graham commented on the appointment, “Bringing reserving, pricing and exposure management together under Meera’s leadership will enable us to streamline our operations, strengthen the specialist support available to our underwriting and claims teams, and drive the continued development of our Commercial platform.

“Meera has made a significant contribution to our syndicate’s success during her almost 10 years with the business; and her appointment reinforces our commitment to developing talent and providing clear pathways for professional progression.

“Her deep actuarial expertise, strong leadership credentials and detailed understanding of our Commercial business also make her ideally placed to take on this role.”
