Alison Hammond has assured fans that she’s doing well after abruptly leaving Friday’s edition of This Morning mid-show.
During the live broadcast, Alison sparked concern when she was seen walking off camera clutching her chest and panting, and did not return.
Fortunately, she shared an update with her Instagram followers that afternoon, revealing she was getting checked over by doctors after what she described as a “little bit of a palpitation”.
“I know you’re all worried about me,” she began in a post on her story. “Honestly, I am fine, first of all – but I’m getting my old ticker checked out. I had a little bit of a palpation, and now, I’m getting it all checked out.
“But I think I’m OK – I’m hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that.”
The Great British Bake Off host went on to say: “I love you all, thank you for all your lovely messages.
“I’m so sorry I left you – I would never normally do that, I would never leave a TV show, so you know I wasn’t very well. But hopefully I’m going to be alright. The doctors are so lovely and they’re checking me out, and hopefully everything’s going to be fine.”
She then quipped: “Well, everything is fine, look! I’m rocking it! Look how good I look! I’ve still got my makeup on from This Morning. Lush!”
Alison signed off her message by telling her fans “love you, babs!”, joking in the caption: “Anything to have a day off.”

After an abrupt ad break, Alison’s regular co-host Dermot O’Leary told This Morning viewers: “Ali’s feeling just a little unwell, so she’s had to duck out. Hopefully, she’ll be back in a sec.”
Dermot and Alison have hosted the ITV daytime show together on Fridays and during school holidays since 2020.
