Global insurer and reinsurer American International Group (AIG) has appointed Gavin Spencer as head of North America Specialty, in addition to his role as head of North America marine starting in 2024.
Spencer has nearly two decades of industry experience in the U.S. and international markets.
Spencer joined WE Cox Claims Group in 2006. At the company, Spencer held the roles of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Group Operations Director and Group Marketing Executive and Assistant Director.
Most recently, he served as chief insurance officer and active underwriter at Parsyl 1796. Prior to that, Spencer spent four years at Marsh, where he served as senior vice president (SVP), head of U.S. Ocean Logistics and Inland Marine, and SVP, head of U.S. recycling.
