Adéla is quashing the suggestion there’s any beef between herself and the members of Katseye.

The Slovak singer first shot to international fame as a hopeful on Netflix’s star search Dream Academy, the series which eventually led to the formation of the six-piece “global girl group”.

While Adéla wound up being one of the first stars to be eliminated, meaning she missed out on a spot in the band that would eventually become Katseye, she was since embarked on a solo career, releasing her debut album Prima last week.

During an interview with Capital Buzz to promote Prima, Adéla was asked for the “biggest misconception” about her relationship with the members of Katseye, insisting: “I think everything that people have ever said about us is wrong.”

“I love those girls!” she enthused. “It’s like, a lot of times, people are so annoying, and they love to pit us against each other. And then, they’re still surprised that we’re friends. But it’s like… you guys made that up! We never said that [there was any rivalry].

“We are all friends. I just love them so much. We shared a crazy introduction into the industry together. We really did [grow up together].”

Adéla added: “They almost feel like my school friends, because we did that for a couple of years of our lives. And no one knew us back then!

Prima was preceded by singles like KGB and Ain’t In LA, the latter of which has recently become a viral hit on TikTok.

The album also features a new single titled after Nicole Kidman, which has already received the seal of approval from the woman herself.

Katseye, meanwhile, kicked off their first world tour last week in Dublin, with the group currently performing as a four-piece while two members are on hiatus.
