Global insurance and reinsurance broker WTW has appointed Lisa Coomey as senior director and head of risk management for its insurance advisory and technology business.
In her new role, Coomey will support insurers in strengthening their risk management capabilities and applying catastrophe risk insights to strategic decision-making, portfolio management, business transformation and emerging risk challenges.
She has over twenty years’ experience with insurance companies, reinsurers, brokers, Lloyd’s market participants and financial regulators.
Most recently, Coomey worked at the Bank of England, where she contributed to the supervision of major insurers in the areas of stress testing, climate risk, emerging risks and Section 166 related activities.
She recently took a career break during which she mentored technology startups through the Accenture Fintech Innovation Lab, reflecting her deep interest in innovation and insurtech.
Coomey commented: “I am delighted to be joining WTW’s insurance advisory and technology team and returning to the industry after leaving the Bank of England.
“Having worked across industry and regulatory areas, I look forward to building the team’s strong foundation in risk management and helping clients navigate the increasingly complex risk landscape through practical solutions, market insights and deep industry experience.”
