Global consulting, broking and solutions company WTW has announced structural changes to the EMEA regional operations of its insurance consulting and technology business, establishing dedicated EMEA P&C and EMEA Life businesses.
The reorganization is in response to technology disruption and customer demand and is designed to deliver deeper expertise, more consistent delivery and innovation at greater scale and speed, while creating a stronger platform for sustainable growth.
As part of the changes, Tim Rourke has been appointed head of EMEA property and casualty and Michael Kluettgens has been appointed head of EMEA life insurance consulting and technology.
In his new role, Rourke will drive growth, deepen collaboration across offices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and connect WTW’s insurance innovation and artificial intelligence capabilities to the evolving needs of property and casualty clients in the region.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been with WTW for the past eight years. Most recently, he was head of property and casualty pricing, products, claims and underwriting for the UK Insurance Consulting and Technology practice.
Prior to joining WTW, he was head of personal lines underwriting at LV= and held roles at Ageas and Standard Life.
Kluettgens will focus on strengthening its insurance consulting and technology lifestyle consulting businesses to provide clients with advanced analytics, artificial intelligence support and end-to-end technology solutions.
He has a strong track record of advising global insurance companies on mergers and acquisitions and financial reporting. He has been with WTW for almost 15 years, most recently as Head of Insurance Consulting and Technology for Northern, Central and Eastern Europe.
Frank Schepers, global head of insurance consulting and technology at WTW, said: “Strengthening our leading position in property and life insurance reflects the scale of demand for integrated technology-based insurance solutions across the EMEA region. Tim and Michael bring exceptional customer insights, deep industry expertise and proven leadership. Together they will help drive our next phase of growth as we sharpen our focus on our customers’ unique needs and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across the entire insurance value chain.”
Tammy Richardson, formerly regional head of insurance consulting and technology Europe, will take on a broader role focused on executing the company’s global AI transformation strategy.
Schepers added: “We take this opportunity to thank Tammy for her successful leadership of the region over the past four years and the central role she has played in the development and growth of the business. In her new role, Tammy will lead the effort to ensure AI is successfully embedded across the organization and oversee the development and delivery of transformative customer technologies and propositions.”
