Willis announces senior leadership appointments in Asia

WTW-owned insurance broker Willis has made four senior leadership appointments in Asia to support the continued growth and expansion of its specialty business in the region.

Nicki Tilney has been appointed head of natural resources, Iris Chan has been appointed head of construction, Sui Jin Wong has been appointed deputy head of construction and Steve Hutchinson has been appointed head of corporate risk and brokerage (CRB) for Hong Kong and Macau, with immediate effect.

The appointments are in line with the company’s ambition to seize significant opportunities in Asia’s natural resources and construction industries.

Most recently, Tierney served as Asia Head of Natural Resources and Construction, leading the combined portfolio through a period of growth and regional connectivity.

In her new role, she leads the Asia Natural Resources business, reflecting the scale and strategic importance of the sector and strengthening Willis’ position as a specialist broker and risk advisor on the global energy transition.

Mr. Chan will continue to oversee Willis Construction’s operations in Hong Kong and Macau. Wong will work with her and support her in growing her business.

Iain Drennan, Willis Asia Pacific head of construction, commented on the appointment: “Both Iris and Sui Jin have established a strong track record in leading our construction business in Asia.

“Iris is committed to seeking innovative and optimal risk transfer solutions for our clients, including infrastructure, superstructure, hospitality, energy and power projects in the region.

“She will use her management experience and industry expertise to work with Sui Jin to grow our construction business in the region and support the company in managing current and emerging risks in the industry.”
