The Hartford, a U.S. insurance and financial services company that provides property and casualty insurance, employee benefits and investment products, has appointed Randy Larsen to its board of directors, effective September 1.
Larson will join the board’s Finance, Investment and Risk Management Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Larsen brings extensive experience in the insurance industry, including 13 years with AssuredPartners, an insurance brokerage specializing in commercial property and casualty, employee benefits, specialty lines and personal lines for middle market companies and individuals. He most recently served as CEO of AssuredPartners from 2023 to 2025, before the company was acquired by Gallagher.
During his tenure at AssuredPartners, Larson helped oversee the brokerage’s expansion, with responsibilities spanning business growth, acquisitions and operational improvements. Prior to becoming CEO, he served in several leadership positions within the company, including president of retail, president of the Western region and president of the central states.
Prior to joining AssuredPartners, Larsen spent 14 years at insurance brokerage Schifman Remley & Associates, which was acquired by AssuredPartners in 2012. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in the banking industry, including serving as President of Mark Twain Bancshares and Mercantile Bancshares.
Larson earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Nebraska Wesleyan University and will bring his experience in insurance operations, financial management and business growth to the company’s board of directors.
