Helen Wilson has joined The Fidelis Partnership from Hannover Re to serve as Reinsurance Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), as Sarah Ching joins the firm from MS Amlin as Senior Underwriter, International Property.
Wilson brings more than two decades of reinsurance underwriting, catastrophe modelling, analytics and business transformation experience to her new role.
She joins from Hannover Re in Bermuda, where she was Senior Underwriter. Previously, Wilson spent more than 10 years at QBE across Bermuda, Sydney, and London.
Ching brings 13 years of property treaty underwriting experience to The Fidelis Partnership, with a focus on the Asia Pacific region. Most recently, she served in the International Property Treaty team at MS Amlin, managing a portfolio across the APAC region from the company’s office in Singapore.
Wilson said: “TFP has built something really compelling in Bermuda – the platform, the talent and the ambition are all there. The opportunity to lead the reinsurance underwriting function at a business growing at this pace, backed by the breadth of TFP’s capacity and distribution, is extremely exciting. I am looking forward to hitting the ground running.”
The Fidelis Partnership says that these appointments further strengthen its underwriting capability and leadership in Bermuda and support the continued growth of its regional footprint.
Over the past 18 months, the firm has expanded its senior underwriting and actuarial presence in Bermuda, and also launched two Bermuda-based Pine Walk cells, Mezura Capital Partners and Adroit Underwriting.
Michael Davern, UK CUO & Group Head of D&F Property and Energy at The Fidelis Partnership, commented: “The growth we’ve achieved in Bermuda over the last 18 months has been exceptional – from the launch of two new Pine Walk cells to a string of top senior hires and relocations. Helen and Sarah are the latest additions to what we believe is a market-leading team on the island. Alongside Jeff Markowski, Shireen Gammoh and Greg Bowman, who have all joined or relocated to Bermuda recently, they represent a significant strengthening of our capabilities. I have no doubt that the momentum we are building will continue to translate into strong outcomes for our clients and partners.”
