Fidelis Partnership, a specialist insurance group specializing in underwriting and investment management, has announced the appointment of Marcus Taylor as Head of Strategic Relationships.
Taylor joins Aon from a reinsurance broker position in the global reinsurance division. He has over 25 years of experience in the reinsurance markets in the US, UK and Asia Pacific.
He previously served as IAG International Reinsurance Executive Manager, including as CEO, leading its reinsurance business in Singapore and Malaysia.
Earlier in his career, he held various positions in Aon’s reinsurance business units in Chicago, London and Australia. Prior to rejoining Aon in 2020, Taylor was Head of Reinsurance (Asia Pacific) at Ed Broking (now part of The Ardonagh Group).
At TFP, Taylor will work closely with Richard Coulson, Group President of Strategic Partnerships, to help implement the company’s broker strategy, with a focus on strengthening core strategic relationships.
He will also contribute to the development of TFP’s high-growth market strategy, working across TFP and its MGAs on the Pine Walk platform to enhance interaction between underwriters and external distribution partners in regions such as Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
Coulson said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Marcus to our business. His extensive broker relationships and decades of experience in the international reinsurance market will prove extremely valuable as we continue to strengthen TFP’s market position in all categories and geographies in which we operate. Close collaboration with external partners is the cornerstone of our success in meeting pressing and changing market needs with innovative insurance solutions, and Marcus will help us develop and strengthen the distribution partnership between TFP and Pine Walk.”
Taylor added: “I am delighted to join TFP and excited to support its international strategic ambitions at a time of strong growth for the business. Having worked across the re/insurance value chain, I have experienced first-hand the critical value of strong external partnerships to the successful execution of underwriting strategies. Bringing this experience to TFP, which has a strong reputation for underwriting leadership and creativity, is a unique opportunity and I look forward to working closely with TFP and Pine’s talented underwriters.”
Taylor assumed the position immediately. He is based in London and reports to Richard Colson.
