Swiss Re Asia appoints Daniel Neo to its Board of Directors

Global reinsurer Swiss Re has announced the appointment of Daniel Neo to the Board of Directors of Swiss Re Asia Pte. Ltd. (SRAL), effective June 1, 2026.

Neo brings more than two decades of executive-level experience and deep regional expertise, having held senior leadership roles in markets including Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.

He currently serves as an independent director and chairman of the risk committee of MS First Capital Insurance Limited in Singapore, and as Asia business advisor to Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance.

Most recently, Neo served as Asia Pacific CEO of Sompo Holdings, where he oversaw operations in 13 countries and achieved strong growth in profitability and market share. He has also served as Chairman and/or Board Member of various Sompo entities in Asia, including India, China, Australia, South Korea and Singapore.

Prior to that, he spent 18 years at Allianz, where he held various senior leadership positions, including CEO Indonesia.
