Starr names Liliane Wehbe as Head of Casualty, MENA

Starr, an insurance and investment organisation, has appointed Liliane Wehbe as Head of Casualty, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

In her new role, Wehbe will be based in Dubai and lead the development of the insurer’s regional specialty casualty offering, drive growth, and further broaden the solutions offered to clients and brokers.

Most recently, she served as the Assistant Vice President and Head of Casualty at Liberty Specialty Markets for the past two years, also based in Dubai.

The insurer, in a statement, added, “With her extensive expertise and strong relationships across the industry, Liliane’s appointment is another important step in expanding our underwriting capabilities across MENA. Welcome to the team, Liliane.”

Earlier this year, Starr appointed Xinwei Zhang as its Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Property, tasked with leading the carrier’s globally aligned property operations function, strengthening team support, enhancing collaboration, and driving new growth opportunities.
