Singapore Reinsurers’ Association names PartnerRe’s James Beedle as new Chair

PartnerRe’s current Asia Pacific (APAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) James Beedle has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Singapore Reinsurance Association (SRA).

In November 2024, Beedle will succeed Marc Haushofer as Vice Chairman.

In his new role, Beedle will focus on collaboration and continue to establish the SRA as a platform for engagement, knowledge exchange and collective advancement for the reinsurance community.

SRA is governed by an elected Executive Committee composed of senior voluntary reinsurance professionals, supported by a full-time Executive Director and Secretariat team.

Beedle has extensive leadership experience in the reinsurance industry and in his current role, he has been instrumental in driving regional growth and strengthening market partnerships.

Prior to joining PartnerRe, he served as Senior Managing Director of Willis Re Asia Willis (Singapore) Pte Ltd for over four years. Beedle also served as CEO and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Willis Re Japan.

Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Willis Reinsurance Australia Limited for more than 17 years. Beedle began his career in 1990 as a reinsurance broker with Willis Faber and Dumas Ltd.

To review, the organization was founded in 1979 to be the leading voice for the national re/insurance industry, advocate for members on regulatory and policy issues, promote industry excellence through training and development, facilitate collaboration and networking opportunities, and increase public awareness of the industry and its career paths.
