ReSource Pro appoints Michael Costonis President of Insurance Solutions

ReSource Pro, a strategic operating partner serving the insurance industry, has named Michael Costonis president of Insurance Business Services to lead the agency process management era for the insurance industry.

He brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having spent decades consulting with insurance companies before serving as chief operating officer of CNA, one of the largest commercial airlines in the United States.

Costonis joins ReSource Pro with more than 30 years of industry experience, having spent 26 years at Accenture as senior managing director and global insurance industry practice leader, overseeing a $2 billion business.

During this time, he also provided consulting services to more than 50 carriers around the world on strategy, underwriting, claims and large-scale transformation, including patenting analytical methods for optimizing claims.

In 2018, the executive transitioned from consultants to operators, joining CNA Insurance as chief operating officer. He co-led a multi-year transformation that reestablished technology and operational leadership and established the industry’s first large-scale cloud and artificial intelligence partnership with Google.

He later served as executive vice president and global head of marketing, strategy and innovation.

“What drew me here was the opportunity to build something that the industry really didn’t have yet,” Kostonis said. “Today, most organizations are forced to cobble together solutions from multiple providers, without a single provider fully understanding how their business operates end-to-end. The real value comes from integrating people, processes and AI into a model that learns, manages itself and continuously delivers better results.”

The company stressed that Costonis’ launch of ReSource Pro comes at a critical time. While adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is rapid, results are lagging.

The problem often lies in implementing a large number of point solutions that add complexity without actually improving outcomes. ReSource Pro explains that the challenge is no longer acquiring the technology, but optimizing how the work is actually done.

In his new role, Costonis will lead the company’s strategy to address this challenge, focusing on unifying data, workflows, systems integration, managed services and artificial intelligence into a single operational layer.

This unified approach is designed to help insurance companies run faster and more accurately by treating AI as an integrated component of their workflow rather than an add-on.

Under Costonis’ leadership, ReSource Pro will rely on Agentic Process Management. The operating model uses AI agents to execute complex insurance workflows under the guidance of experts, ensuring the technology can scale through a regulated and transparent system.

Dan Epstein, CEO of ReSource Pro, commented: “Artificial intelligence is powerful not because of the models, but when deep insurance expertise and operational discipline are embedded into every workflow.

“That’s what ReSource Pro has always been about. Michael understands the complexities of our customers’ operations and how to fundamentally improve the way work gets done.”
