QBE Re, the reinsurance arm of global insurance company QBE, has appointed Sven Liu as head of Greater China.
Sven joins QBE Re with over 16 years of international reinsurance experience in Asia and Europe. He is an experienced multi-line underwriter who has held senior positions focusing on underwriting, client engagement and business development in Greater China. His previous experience includes leadership positions at Munich Re and SCOR.
This position is newly created as part of QBE Re’s regional growth plan. Sven will be responsible for managing the investment portfolio and identifying new business opportunities in the Greater China market.
He will be based in Singapore and report to Cindy Foo, Head of Asia at Treaty. His appointment follows the appointment of Cindy Foo in December 2025 and supports QBE Re’s strategy to expand its treaty reinsurance business in Asia.
