Malaysian reinsurer Mandarin Re has appointed Patrick GW Ward to its board of directors.
The appointment reflects Mandarin Re’s continued commitment to strong governance and long-term sustainable growth.
“We believe Patrick’s experience and industry perspective will make a valuable contribution to the board and the company’s future growth,” the reinsurer said.
Ward has more than 35 years of leadership experience in the insurance industry and has deep expertise in corporate governance, reinsurance and strategic business development.
He currently serves as President of the Insurance Association of the Caribbean (IAC), a position he has held for three consecutive years, and has held a number of senior executive and board positions throughout his career.
Ward served as the executive chief executive officer (CEO) of First General Insurance Company of the Bahamas for more than two decades and later continued as CEO in April 2024.
