Liberty International Insurance, a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, announced the completion of license consolidation in the Asia-Pacific region and simplified its branding to “Liberty” in key markets in the region.
This transformation is an important milestone for the company’s Asia Pacific business. By merging its retail and commercial underwriting divisions in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China, Liberty now operates under a single license in each jurisdiction.
While the business will trade under the unified “Liberty” brand in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, it will retain its existing brand name in Malaysia, India and China.
The completion of the Hong Kong license merger unifies Liberty Insurance and Liberty Professional Markets businesses under a single insurance license in Hong Kong.
Liberty’s recent operational updates in Asia include:
- Singapore: The retail and commercial businesses are now unified as Liberty Pte Limited.
- Malaysia: All general insurance operations have been streamlined into one entity, Liberty General Insurance Berhad.
- China: Renewals and new commercial re/insurance transactions are now conducted through Liberty Insurance.
Matthew Jackson, president of Asia Pacific, said: “2026 is a critical year for us across Asia Pacific. We have achieved our goal of simplifying the general insurance business as the Liberty agency in every market, creating a simpler and stronger organization for our customers and partners.”
Adding: “The move to the Liberty brand is also critical to simplifying how we present ourselves to agents, brokerage partners and clients. This is the same brand used by our parent Liberty Mutual team for the majority of our TV advertising and marketing in the U.S. We are streamlining our presence in Asia and delivering real benefits to our partners, including access to a broader product range, larger teams with expertise and efficient service.”
Operating locally as ‘one Liberty’ enables the company to offer a comprehensive range of general insurance products across the region, including personal, commercial and tailored solutions for large project, corporate and government clients.
This brand simplification is designed to provide a more seamless experience for regional customers and partners.
