Larrondo joins MDS Group’s Marine Insurance business as Global Director

MDS Group, part of The Ardonagh Group, has announced the appointment of Adrián Larrondo as global director of its marine business, based in Madrid.

Lalondo will draw on his more than three decades of international experience in the maritime and insurance sectors to lead the business line’s international development.

He will be responsible for driving the region’s strategy, strengthening the value proposition for clients with complex cross-border operations and consolidating MDS’ presence in key markets in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.

During his career, he has held leadership positions in insurance, claims, loss prevention and legal advisory services at JLT Insurance Brokers, March JLT and Grupo CSAV.

His expertise spans different geographies including Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining MDS, he successfully managed his own professional consulting firm and acted as external agent for Latin American maritime business within the international Howden RS alliance.

He uniquely combines a strong legal background, deep technical knowledge of marine insurance and an international business perspective.

The company noted that Larrondo’s appointment reinforces MDS Group’s commitment to professionalism, support for internationalization and global growth of its marine insurance business.

Furthermore, it is in line with the Group’s vision of providing professional services and is supported by a strong multidisciplinary international team composed of Spanish and Latin American professionals.
