Reinsurance broker Howden Re has appointed Thomas Fitzgerald as global head of client relations and deputy chairman.
In his new role, Fitzgerald will lead global client and reinsurer relationships with a focus on client engagement and market innovation. He will work to deepen relationships, strengthen placement strategies and strengthen collaboration to improve outcomes for clients and reinsurers.
Fitzgerald has more than 30 years of experience in the global insurance and brokerage industries.
He joins Howden Re from World Insurance Associates, where he served as president of retail operations. Prior to that, he served as president of QBE North America Professional and Commercial.
Fitzgerald also spent nearly 30 years at Aon, where he served as CEO of Aon Risk Solutions, leading Aon’s global brokerage platform, and prior to that, he led Aon’s U.S. retail operations.
He said in a recent LinkedIn post, “This position is everything I’ve ever wanted after working in this industry for over 30 years.
