Global insurance broker Howden has announced the launch of a U.S. trucking business, expanding its specialty transportation and logistics vertical.
The new approach is designed to provide coordinated support to trucking and other fleet operators within the transportation industry.
This comprehensive approach is designed to help clients address casualty risk, fleet safety, manage claims outcomes and reduce total risk costs.
The trucking practice works closely with Howden’s wider transport and logistics team, combining risk consulting and insurance underwriting with claims advocacy and hands-on risk support, including telematics and safety technology guidance.
Thomas O’Donnell, head of transportation and logistics at Howden US, commented: “Trucking companies are facing greater volatility on all fronts. Claims, litigation, regulatory and cost pressures.
“Our goal is simple: provide the right people, the right data and the right solutions to help customers protect their businesses and keep America moving forward. This is the right team to make that happen.”
Michael Parrish, CEO of Howden Americas, said: “We are building transportation and logistics services the same way we build professional services across Howden: by delivering deep industry expertise through a coordinated platform designed around the real needs of our customers. By bringing specialized freight expertise to our country teams, we can move faster, negotiate harder and provide more consistent support from placement to claim.”
