Howden, an insurance intermediary group that provides brokerage, reinsurance and underwriting services, has announced the establishment of a dedicated US online business unit, emphasizing continued investment in professional talent to support corporate customers.

The new practice is built around a senior leadership team that includes Juliet White, head of cyber; Lou Botticell, head of cyber brokerage; Jessica Daehler, head of cyber growth and strategy; Suzane Gladle, head of cyber client engagement and services; David Hau, head of cyber private equity and M&A solutions; and Natalia Santiago, head of cyber claims.

Collectively, these appointments average over twenty years of industry experience each. The team’s combination of strong underwriting and brokerage expertise allows them to provide informed, practical guidance and a differentiated approach to cyber risk management.

The group, now part of Howden’s US business, provides cyber insurance capabilities spanning strategic consulting, placement, customer service, product innovation, claims support and cyber risk consulting.

The launch further strengthens Howden’s global networking proposition, expanding its international network and expanding the company’s networking expertise to more than 150 professionals across five continents.

Ron Borys, head of finance at Howden US, commented: “Our own data shows that cyber protection itself is good value for money, generating a 19% ROI, making the value proposition of cyber insurance clear: for businesses, in addition to providing a financial safety net, cyber insurance can promote improved cyber hygiene, incident response and operational resilience.

“In a relatively young product line, where the company faces a volatile threat environment dominated by a series of high-severity ransomware attacks, building a truly strong team capable of making the best possible decisions is a key differentiator for clients. I’m extremely proud that Juliet, Lou, Jessica, Suzane, David and Natalia have chosen to join Howden, their deep knowledge and expertise in the cyber space will take our global capabilities to the next level and enhance the service and advice we offer.”

Mike Parrish, CEO of Howden US, said: “Ron is building the industry’s U.S. Network A team. With a unique combination of senior underwriters and experienced brokers, clients get both sides: market intelligence and best-in-class results. Best of all, the team is able to innovate and make decisions at the client level, not the company level. In a space where client needs and pressures are constantly changing, the value of this agility cannot be overestimated.”

Shay Simkin, Chairman of Howden’s Cyber Practice, added: “These hires reflect Howden’s strategy to invest in and grow its cyber expertise globally as we continue to deliver products and services, thought leadership and innovation to our 10,000 customers around the world. The fact that our U.S. cyber footprint has been established so quickly and with industry-leading talent is proof that our strategy is working, allowing us to solve our customers’ most complex cyber insurance risks.”
