Howden Capital Markets & Advisory establishes German entity

Howden Capital Markets & Advisory (HCMA), Howden’s specialist risk, capital and strategy advisory business, continues to expand across the continent with the establishment of a German entity.

Howden Capital Markets & Advisory (EU) GmbH has been granted an investment company license by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).

The new entity builds on HCMA’s growing presence across the continent, enhancing its ability to combine local execution with global industry expertise.

HCMA’s established reputation across the continent, coupled with Howden Re’s local expertise, rapid growth and continued investment in the region, enables it to provide clients with capital markets capabilities, reinsurance insights and access to global investors.

HCMA’s establishment of a regulated platform in Germany marks another step in its long-term commitment to the region, enabling closer client engagement and enhanced execution capabilities.

This development reflects growing demand from European insurers and reinsurers for advice beyond traditional risk transfer.

Jarad Madea, CEO of Howden Capital Markets & Advisory, said: “HCMA has established itself as a leading independent advisor in the global property and casualty insurance market. The continent presents significant opportunities for global capital advisory, with increasing deal activity and growing investor interest in the sector. Our model combines deep industry expertise with Howden Re’s full integration, allowing us to deliver differentiated outcomes for clients in the region.”

Alexander Roth, Managing Director and Head of Capital & Operating Solutions at Howden Re, added: “The establishment of the Howden Capital Markets & Advisory German entity is the next milestone in Howden Re’s continued growth and investment in continental Europe. Strengthening capabilities in the region underlines our continued commitment to clients in Europe and our ambition to expand our capital advisory services globally.”
