Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Howden expands its Irish presence through acquisitions Thomond Asset Management is the trading name of Folk Asset Management Limited, a financial advisory firm based in Limerick.
Founded by Tom Fitzgerald, Neil Kelly and David O’Neill, Thomond Asset Management provides expert advice to individuals and business owners on financial planning, pensions (pre- and post-retirement), investments and estate planning.
After the acquisition is completed, that is Subject to approval by CBI regulatory authorities, Thomond’s team of nine experienced professionals will join Howden to help drive the continued growth of the firm’s financial advisory business in Ireland.

The acquisition builds on Howden’s growing financial advisory capabilities, following the addition of Maven Financial Planning in April 2026 and Opes Wealth Trust in May 2026.
Established last year and led by Dermot Gaskin, the team currently has over 80 professionals supporting the financial planning and advice needs of a large number of clients across Ireland.
