HDI Global, the corporate and specialty insurance business of the HDI Group, has appointed Sheena Williams as Global Head of Sport, Leisure & Entertainment (SLE), strengthening its international underwriting proposition.

The move aligns with HDI Global’s ambition to develop its international SLE business and connect specialist capabilities across markets, with a focus on expanding the entertainment offering

In her new role, Williams will amplify HDI Global’s international SLE proposition by combining specialist expertise, products, and market relationships across the organisation.

She will deepen capabilities across the wider entertainment sector, including film, further leveraging established Sports Personal Accident (Sports PA) expertise, and pursuing targeted opportunities for geographic expansion.

Additionally, she will expand HDI Global’s SLE proposition, particularly in entertainment and film, where the firm sees opportunities to utilise the intellectual property, specialist expertise, and client relationships already established across its international offices, connecting these capabilities to serve clients and brokers comprehensively.

Williams has extensive experience across the insurance distribution chain and has spent the last seven years at HDI Global, contributing broad industry expertise.

Rafael Rebitzky, Global Head of Specialty Lines, HDI Global, commented, “There is strong potential to establish a leading international position in the Sport, Leisure & Entertainment market, building on the extensive expertise already available across HDI Global.

“Sheena Williams brings a wealth of industry expertise and strong market relationships. Her appointment solidifies our proposition, connecting our capabilities internationally and developing the business in areas where we see attractive and long-term opportunities.”

Williams added, “Since I started my career in the insurance industry, I have seen just how important specialist knowledge, relationships, and a real understanding of clients’ businesses and needs are. What excites me about this role is the opportunity to connect the expertise we already have across HDI Global and turn it into an even stronger international proposition. As the Partner in Transformation, we focus on our clients’ needs and bring together the right expertise and capabilities to address them individually.”
