Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd., an international specialty insurance and reinsurance group, has announced the promotion of Moussa Thiam to Group Compliance Officer.
In this role, Thiam will lead and coordinate compliance activities across Hamilton’s global operations, ensuring a consistent and unified approach to standards across its underwriting platforms.
Based in London, he will report to Group General Counsel Gemma Carreiro and work closely with senior leadership and teams across the organization to further integrate compliance into day-to-day decision-making and support the company’s strategic objectives.
Thiam joined Hamilton in December 2024 as head of compliance for the company’s Hamilton Global Specialty and Hamilton Re underwriting platforms, where he worked extensively on key compliance and regulatory initiatives across the business.
Prior to joining Hamilton, he served as Head of Cross-Border and International Compliance at Beazley for seven years. Prior to this, he held various compliance and regulatory advisory roles at MS Amlin, the Financial Ombudsman Service and Lloyds Banking Group.
Carreiro commented: “We operate in an increasingly complex and interconnected regulatory environment and maintaining strict compliance standards is a fundamental part of how we do business. The establishment of this group-wide role both reflects the scale of our business today and reinforces our commitment to upholding the highest standards of global compliance and governance as we support sustainable, responsible growth.”
“Moussa has made a significant impact since joining Hamilton and is a trusted, collaborative leader. This promotion is in recognition of his deep understanding of our business and his ability to work effectively across teams and geographies to build a strong, pragmatic compliance culture.”
