Gallagher Australia, the local arm of global insurance broking, risk management and advisory firm, has appointed Johannes-Daniel Veldsman as chief commercial officer, responsible for overseeing the company’s specialist divisions and commercial strategy.
In this role, Veldsman will manage Gallagher Australia’s professional areas and support the continued development of the company’s professional capabilities.
The company said his experience and leadership are expected to enhance its ability to provide clients with tailored insurance solutions and risk management insights.
Veldsman joins Gallagher after more than seven years at insurance brokerage and risk management firm Marsh. During this time, he held a number of senior leadership roles, most recently as Head of Corporate and Commercial, Pacific Region.
Prior to joining Marsh, Veldsman served as national manager for growth, digital and innovation. Prior to this, Veldsman served as national general manager of specialty products at JLT Australia, focusing on product development and innovation.
Gallagher Australia said the appointment supports its continued focus on expanding its expertise and enhancing its insurance and risk advisory services to clients.
