Fuse International, the AI-powered commercial insurance intelligence platform, announced the general launch of Watch, a new product built specifically for commercial insurance brokers and underwriters that maps every active hazard in the United States on a real-time map.
According to Fuse, Watch is organized around four views: hazard mapping of active events in the continental U.S., real-time feeds of insurance-related alerts with business scope, forecasts covering severe weather risks over the next three days, and real-time interpretation of macro and commodity signals driving insurance pricing.
The hazard map reportedly covers more than 18 different hazard categories, ranging from tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, hail, lightning, high winds to tropical systems. It also tracks floods, wildfires, winter weather, earthquakes and volcanoes.
Other categories include coastal and tsunami events, landslides, air quality, ocean conditions and visibility, and FEMA disaster declarations.
The map leverages multiple real-time data sources, including active watches and warnings from the National Weather Service (NWS), convective outlooks from the NOAA Storm Prediction Center, seismic data from the U.S. Geological Survey, and satellite-based hotspot detection.
“The feed refreshes every ten minutes. Brokers and underwriters are filtered by risk type, severity, geography and time window, and the analysis summarizes seven days of alert volume, alerts by risk, and top states by alert volume,” Fuse added.
The company continues, “For brokers and underwriters who want the market to come to them, Watch also offers a comprehensive daily email summary – a morning briefing covering the overnight risk profile, three-day forecast, the most important carrier pressure changes and the commodity and macro signals that change while the market sleeps.
“Recipients select the region most relevant to their book — the Midwest, Gulf Coast, Southeast, California and West, Northeast or the entire continental United States — and the summary is customized accordingly.”
Sean Bourgeois, founder and CEO of Fuse, commented: “Brokers and underwriters have access to public weather data, public catastrophe data, and public economic data. What they don’t have is a dedicated product that can consolidate all of this data into a real-time view, filter it through a commercial insurance lens, and keep it updated around the clock.
“The Watch is that product. It’s a real-time hazard dashboard that every commercial underwriter and every broker should have open on a second monitor. The Daily Digest is for the broader market – because the first thing good underwriters do every morning is read the market, and we want to make it easier for everyone to do that.”
Watch is now available to all Fuse subscribers at fusions.com/alerts.
