Duck Creek Technologies, a provider of property and casualty (P&C) and general insurance software solutions, has acquired Send Technology Solutions Ltd, an AI-native underwriting orchestration engine.
The acquisition creates the industry’s first agency solution that combines core insurance operations and intelligent underwriting workflows across the policy lifecycle and is suitable for multiple operating models.
By combining the capabilities of both companies, insurers will be able to connect submission intake, classification, enrichment, risk assessment, quote decisions, policy issuance and portfolio monitoring in a more unified operating model. This will help underwriters make faster, more consistent decisions with greater confidence, while supporting profitable growth as improving underwriting performance becomes a strategic imperative for insurers.
Send’s underwriting orchestration platform is already delivering measurable benefits to insurers, including a seven-fold acceleration in quoting time and a 65% reduction in product launch time. Combined with Duck Creek’s clients’ proven outperformance in combined ratios and growth, the acquisition creates an opportunity to help insurers increase underwriting velocity, profitability and competitiveness throughout the underwriting life cycle.
Hardeep Gulati, CEO of Duck Creek, said: “Underwriting has become one of the most important priorities for insurance companies as they look to improve profitability, manage increasingly complex risks and compete with greater speed and precision.
“By bringing Send to Duck Creek, we are combining core insurance operations and underwriting orchestration into a trusted agent AI experience that connects systems of record, decision intelligence, workflows and actions. This is a game changer for insurance companies: a unified platform that helps them transform underwriting complexity into clearer decisions, faster execution, stronger risk selection and measurable business value.”
The acquisition builds on Duck Creek’s recently launched Agentic AI Platform and Agentic Underwriting Workbench strategies, launched at Formation ’26.
Duck Creek’s Agentic AI platform enables insurance companies to deploy, orchestrate and manage AI agents throughout the insurance lifecycle to support trusted decision-making. The platform will extend and accelerate Send’s underwriting orchestration capabilities by embedding insurance-native agency, governance and core system connectivity into the underwriting lifecycle, while providing underwriters with the foundation to deploy AI across underwriting to increase speed, control and business impact.
Send will continue to be offered as a standalone underwriting orchestration engine integrated with all core systems, while benefiting from continued investment and deeper integration with Duck Creek’s Intelligent Insurance Cloud and Agentic AI platform for mutual customers.
Andy Moss, CEO and co-founder of Send, will continue to lead the Send team as general manager of underwriting at Duck Creek.
“Send is designed to help insurers navigate increasingly complex underwriting decisions by integrating people, data, AI and workflow into a single underwriting experience,” said Moss. “Joining Duck Creek creates an opportunity to bring this vision to the broader global market while helping insurers achieve faster decisions, greater efficiency and more profitable growth. We share a belief that technology empowers underwriters, not replaces them, and that AI must be delivered with transparency, governance and trust.”
