Compre appoints David Atkins as Deputy CEO

Bermuda-based international specialist reinsurer Compre has appointed David Atkins to the newly created role of deputy chief executive, based in London.

Compre said the appointment will strengthen the company’s leadership capabilities to handle greater scale and complexity, while ensuring rigorous execution and clear accountability.

Atkins will reportedly oversee key functions of the group, including operations, risk, actuarial, claims and people.

Prior to joining Compre, he served as COO at Premia for five years, where he was responsible for operational delivery, integration and organizational effectiveness.

Prior to joining Premia, Atkins spent 17 years at Enstar, holding a variety of senior leadership positions in operations, strategy and execution during a period of significant growth and development for the business.

Compre Group CEO Will Bridger, to whom Atkins will report, commented: “David has extensive experience operating and scaling complex reinsurance platforms in our markets.

“As Compre continues to grow, this appointment will strengthen our future leadership structure and I look forward to working with David to drive the next phase of the group’s strategic development.
