Chubb promotes Scott Henck to Group Actuary

Chubb, a large US insurance company, has promoted Scott Henck to group senior vice president (SVP) and chief actuary, effective April 1, 2026.

He will report dually to Chubb Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Evan G. Greenberg and Chubb Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Peter Enns.

Since 2019, Henck has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary, North America. He succeeds Paul O’Connell, who is retiring after four decades in the property and casualty insurance industry.

Greenberg commented, “On behalf of all Chubb employees and myself personally, I would like to thank Paul for his many contributions, excellent judgment and deep professionalism throughout his distinguished career. Paul has been a valued steward of Chubb’s actuarial capabilities, and we wish him well in his retirement.”

In his new role, Henke will oversee the entire actuarial function, including reserving, pricing and capital performance measurement.

Henck joined Chubb in 2002 with nearly three decades of industry experience. Prior to that, he founded and led Global Claims’ actuarial insights, business intelligence and advanced analytics divisions.

Greenberg added: “We are pleased to appoint Scott to lead Chubb’s global actuarial function. He is an accomplished actuary and proven leader whose deep technical expertise and understanding of our business will ensure we continue to manage risk with the rigor and excellence that characterizes our firm.”

“Scott’s analytical acumen and collaborative leadership style make him the ideal successor to further drive excellence in our global actuarial practice,” Enns said.

With this new appointment, Cynthia Bentley, currently senior vice president and chief actuary of North American Commercial Insurance, will succeed Henck as executive vice president and chief actuary of North America.
