CFC, a specialist insurance provider focused on emerging risks, has appointed Chris Loake as Chief Information Officer (CIO).
In his new role, Loake will drive CFC’s technology strategy, solidifying its long-term vision and digital distribution capabilities and building on its track record of innovations such as single-issue quoting, automatic renewals and agency underwriting. In addition, he will join the Executive Committee in November.
Most recently, Loake served as Group CIO at Hiscox, where he led the FTSE 100 insurance company’s global technology transformation, including work on artificial intelligence.
He has more than two decades of experience in the insurance, banking and financial services sectors and previously held senior technology leadership roles at C. Hoare & Co, Close Brothers and Experian. He is also a non-executive director of Companies House, a UK government agency.
John Howard, Chairman of CFC, commented: “Technology and innovation have been at the heart of CFC’s momentum and success from day one. Chris joins us as Chief Information Officer at a critical time in our growth journey. Working closely with Adam and the wider leadership team, he will play a key role in scaling our global business and delivering on our vision for our next chapter of growth.
“Chris has a proven track record of building world-class technology, data and AI capabilities. His experience and leadership will be invaluable as we accelerate the adoption of AI across our business, unlock new innovation opportunities and further enhance the value we deliver to our customers and partners.”
Loake added: “CFC has become a technology leader in specialty insurance, operating in a market with huge scope for continued innovation. The company continues to demonstrate how technology can transform the broker and partner experience, an opportunity that will only become more exciting as advances in artificial intelligence open up new possibilities across the insurance landscape.
“I have long admired CFC’s culture of innovation and its willingness to challenge conventional thinking. I look forward to working with Adam and the team to build on the strong foundation already in place and help shape its next chapter of growth.”
