Celebrity Traitors bosses have confirmed that contestant James Blunt was recently given a telling off over a social media post that went against BBC rules.
As reported by Metro, James had shared a picture of himself on the set of the Bafta-winning reality show sporting one of his signature tweed suits on social media.
“The name’s Blunt. James Blunt,” the Goodbye My Lover singer wrote, alongside a link to the brand responsible for the suit’s social pages.

However, the post – which also featured The Celebrity Traitors’ logo – was quickly pulled, after bosses noticed that it went against the corporation’s regulations around commercial endorsements.
A BBC rep told Metro: “The BBC has clear guidelines in place around commercial activity which we take very seriously and players have been reminded of this.”
“The social media posts referred to have been taken down,” they added.

HuffPost UK has also contacted James Blunt’s team for comment.
James is one of 21 famous faces who signed up for the second season of The Celebrity Traitors.
So far, he’s been seen leaning into the leadership skills he acquired during his time in the military as part of the show’s “missions” – but his abilities at deciphering “Traitors” are definitely less well-honed.
Indeed, Friday’s episode saw him leading the charge for Julie Hesmondhalgh’s banishment, and when she revealed herself as a “Faithful”, suspicions swirled around the Grammy nominee.
