BreachRx launches cyber incident response management warranty with $3m in coverage

BreachRx announces the launch of the BreachRx CIRM Warranty, the industry’s first cyber incident response management warranty, providing up to $3 million in executive and enterprise cyber incident liability protection from a global insurance company.

BreachRx is the first platform to run cyber incident response as a managed, enterprise-wide business process.

Contractually backed financial safeguards are designed to protect chief information security officers, CEOs, general counsel and other organizational leaders from personal liability arising from cybersecurity incidents.

The BreachRx CIRM warranty is available from April 2, 2026 and includes tiered limitations consistent with the BreachRx product plan. It provides coverage up to $3 million for regulatory defense costs, fines and penalties, and negligence-related claims related to incidents handled through the BreachRx platform.

The BreachRx CIRM solution transforms incident response from ad hoc coordination to a governed, cross-functional operating system spanning security, legal, privacy, communications, IT and executive leadership – now backed by contractual financial assurance.

“Cyber leaders are no longer judged by containment speed, but by evidence,” said Anderson Lunsford, co-founder and CEO of BreachRx. “This means demonstrating that they are prepared, follow sound and repeatable processes, and take the right actions at the right time.

“By combining our CIRM solution with real financial support, we are giving CISOs and C-level executives something entirely new: a defensible system of record and personal protection in today’s most scrutinized situations.”

Unlike traditional cyber insurance, which often involves large retention and executive coverage gaps, the BreachRx CIRM warranty applies from the first dollar of qualified costs incurred for incidents managed through the BreachRx CIRM solution. It’s designed to complement networking and D&O programs and help fill structural gaps that CISOs and other leaders may not be able to fully cover.

When customers manage incidents through BreachRx, the resulting audit trail, deadline tracking, and regulatory consistency qualify them for warranty support coverage, absorbing costs that might otherwise be borne entirely by the company and its leadership.

“One of the biggest concerns when a breach occurs under a CISO’s watch is what impact it will have on the company and what impact it will have on them personally afterwards,” said James Beeson, former CISO at a Fortune 20 insurance company.

“BreachRx helps strengthen security manuals, workflows and defensible documentation for legal, security, communications and enforcement stakeholders. Understanding these same processes can unlock up to $3 million in financial protection, can change the conversation with the board of directors, and provide teams with an additional level of personal assurance.”
