Ascot names Ian Lowe as Head of Bermuda Property Treaty

Global specialist insurance and reinsurance group Ascot has appointed Ian Lowe as head of Bermuda property treaties.

In his new role, Lowe succeeds Simon Kimberley, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. He will report to Marc Amen, chief executive officer (CEO) North America and interim CEO of Ascot Bermuda.

In addition, Lowe is responsible for leading the reinsurer’s establishment of the Bermuda Property Treaty reinsurance platform, building on its strong market position and helping to drive continued performance and consistency.

He has over twenty years’ experience in the property and casualty treaty markets and joined Ascot in 2017. Prior to this, Lowe held treaty reinsurance leadership roles at Willis Re and Guy Carpenter in London.

Amen commented on the appointment: “Ian is a proven leader within Ascot with a deep understanding of the Bermuda reinsurance market.

“He brings continuity, deep experience and trusted relationships to the role and will continue to serve our clients in this important area.”

The appointment follows the appointment of Shanelle Burke as U.S. chief financial officer last month.
