Aon plc, a global professional services firm providing risk, retirement and health solutions, has announced the expansion of Vlad Bobko’s leadership responsibilities.

Bobko will serve as Global Strategy Head of Political Risk, War Risk and Crisis Management at Risk Capital, while continuing as CEO of Central, Eastern and Northern Europe, effective immediately.

He will continue to report to EMEA co-CEO Kai-Frank Buechter for his regional leadership responsibilities, while his global strategy responsibilities will be reported to Risk Capital CEO Joe Peiser.

Aon said the expanded role combines regional leadership experience with specialized risk expertise as organizations continue to face challenges related to geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruptions and security risks. Bobko will support clients operating across international markets in developing integrated venture capital capabilities.

“Political risk, war risk and crisis management are increasingly important considerations for organizations operating in a complex and interconnected world,” Peizer added. “Flood has extensive experience advising clients on these challenges, as well as a deep understanding of international risk markets. His expertise will help shape our strategic approach and help us continue to help clients navigate evolving risks and opportunities.”

Bobko joined the company in 2004 as country manager for Ukraine and has since held a series of leadership roles in Central and Eastern Europe. He has held regional roles since 2010, initially as Chief Brokerage Officer and later as Chief Executive Officer. Aon added that Bobko has also led crisis management activities at Aon’s global brokerage center in London since 2013, including overseeing the structured credit and political risk teams.

Bobko’s experience spans the retail and reinsurance markets, where he has worked with large local and multinational organizations to develop complex and specialized risk solutions, the company said.

“Vlad has played an important role in the growth of our Central and Eastern European business over the years. He brings deep market expertise, a deep understanding of customer needs and leadership capabilities in different markets,” said Buechter. “As his responsibilities continue to expand, he is well-positioned to build on this success and advance the way we serve clients across markets.”
