AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, a Bermuda-based global insurance and reinsurance company, has announced the appointment of Anthony Izzo as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), based in the company’s Red River and New York offices.
With 35 years of industry experience, Izzo leads the company’s global commercial strategy, working closely with underwriting and regional leadership to enhance how AXIS engages with brokers and partners.
The move is designed to drive profitable growth and advance the operator’s multi-category distribution strategy, while unlocking new business opportunities.
Izzo will report to AXIS President and CEO Vince Tizzio, who commented: “Throughout Tony’s career, he has built and developed strong business partnerships and mutually beneficial strategic relationships while driving organic growth in complex specialty markets.
“His deep and extensive experience in distribution, underwriting and brokerage will be an asset to our team as we continue to execute on our professional leadership strategy and maximize our products and capabilities to market.”
Izzo joins AXIS from Bermuda-based reinsurer Everest, where he served as Executive Vice President/Group Chief Commercial Officer, where he oversaw commercial strategy and drove enterprise-wide growth and client relationships.
Prior to joining Everest, the executive held senior leadership roles at Guy Carpenter, TransRe, Aon Benfield and Willis Re.
