Amynta Group combines underwriting units to expand wholesale specialty casualty business

Insurance services provider Amynta Group has strategically merged its underwriting arm Scion Underwriting Services into Ambridge Group to expand its wholesale professional casualty business.

The combined new business unit will operate as Ambridge Group’s specialty casualty underwriting division, providing underwriting solutions and expanding services to Amynta’s brokerage partners.

Ambridge Specialty Casualty is designed to provide primary general liability and excess liability coverage across a range of industries and market segments, the insurer explained.

The unit, led by Jon Liening, aims to create a unified, comprehensive platform to serve the company’s wholesale partners. Liening currently leads Ambridge’s general and excess responsibilities.

Jess Pryor, executive chairman of Ambridge Group, commented: “Scion has built a strong underwriting platform serving the primary and excess casualty markets.

“Combining our specialty casualty businesses brings together deep underwriting expertise and provides an even greater ability to deliver comprehensive, differentiated solutions.

“We are excited to bring together these talented teams who will continue to provide top-notch service and underwriting solutions to our broker partners.”
