Amiga Specialty, a specialist managing general agent (MGA) backed by BP Marsh, has strengthened its trading risk desk, expanding its presence in Europe with the hiring of a team that includes Sam Batchelor as head of European trading risk, Meea Keziah Cabansag as underwriter and George Brain as assistant underwriter on the board.
In his new role, Batchelor reports to Richard Mills, who joined Amiga Specialty in August as managing director of trading risk.
These appointments represent the latest growth move for Amiga, which recently announced millions of capacity acquisitions through the Accelerant Risk Exchange and will soon announce further substantial capacity partnerships.
These employees are in line with the company’s positioning as a market leader in UK and European trading. MGA is backed by Class A capacity and is able to write warranties and indemnities in the UK and all EU countries.
Adam Kembrooke, Managing Director and Founder of Amiga, commented: “We are delighted to have such exceptional individuals join our Transaction Risk team at what is an exciting time for Amiga Specialty. The team is tasked with building Transaction Risk across the UK and Europe and will be an excellent complement to our overall strategy, ensuring robust underwriting quality and exceptional service to the market.
“We see tremendous value in supporting the transaction risk area. With the experience of these three people, we are well-positioned to build a substantive transaction risk business under the leadership of Richard Mills. I look forward to seeing what this talented team can achieve in the future.”
