Allianz Türkiye, a multi-line insurance company operating in Turkey and part of the Allianz Group, selected the Nettle AI platform to support its commercial property risk engineering operations following a pilot program conducted by an internal team.
According to Allianz Türkiye, the pilot project has shown that property inspections conducted by its risk engineering team can be completed three times faster and provide structured output to the underwriting team faster than the previous process.
The company said the move is designed to improve coordination between on-site inspection work and downstream reporting in commercial property insurance workflows.
Allianz Türkiye notes that in some cases, inspections may be completed on site before the associated reporting process is finalized, which may result in delays in underwriting reviews.
The Nettle mobile app runs in Turkish and is used by risk engineers to support inspection preparation and record information during site visits. Data can be captured in the form of photos, documents, and audio notes. The platform then processes this information and generates structured inspection reports, risk assessments and underwriting guidance, which are delivered the same day as the inspection, according to the companies involved.
Allianz Türkiye’s Risk Engineering practice is led by Ceyhun Eren and covers commercial real estate portfolios with different asset types and risk profiles. The company said the platform will be implemented across its wider risk engineering function and is designed to provide same-day structured inspection output to underwriting teams.
Allianz Bank Turkey also mentioned its established work on risk prevention and assessment in Türkiye. The company operates a certified earthquake and fire testing and training center in the country through its subsidiary Allianz Teknik.
Allianz Türkiye positions the deployment of the Nettle platform as part of the ongoing development of its commercial risk assessment process, covering all stages from initial submission to on-site inspection and underwriting review.
“When I first saw the possibilities, my reaction was wow. Nettle is truly shaping the future of risk engineering. It’s the future of the entire industry, not just Allianz Türkiye,” said Dr. Ceyhun Eren, Director of Technology and Risk Engineering at Allianz Türkiye.
“Allianz Türkiye not only adopts innovation, but builds on it. The Allianz Teknik they established is Turkey’s first and only certified earthquake and fire testing and training center, which shows what it means to lead rather than follow when it comes to risk prevention. This spirit is why this partnership is so important.” Ceyhun and his team came to this project with the expertise and belief to shape what AI-driven risk engineering should look like, at a time when the industry needs someone to lead the way,” added CEO and CEO Jack Miller.
