Global insurer American International Group (AIG) has announced the promotion of Neil Smallcombe to president of the company’s U.S. surplus insurer, Lexington Insurance Company.
In his new role, Smallcomb will leverage his more than two decades of industry experience to lead Lexington’s emergency room, casualty, healthcare and Western World businesses.
He will also work closely with Lexington CEO Lou Levinson to help AIG continue to solidify Lexington’s position as the E&S market leader.
“With deep expertise in wholesale markets and a strong commitment to underwriting discipline, Neil embodies the depth of talent and leadership we have within AIG,” an AIG spokesman said.
Smallcombe originally joined Lexington’s London Casualty Unit in 2003 and has held roles of increasing responsibility.
His experience includes primary and excess underwriting for all general casualty lines, covering the large national accounts and middle market spaces.
In 2013, he relocated to Chicago to lead AIG’s Lexington Casualty Insurance Surplus Lines platform across the Midwest.
