AIG announces leadership appointments across China and Hong Kong

AIG, the global insurance company providing commercial and personal insurance solutions, has announced a senior leadership change across its Greater China operations, with Lisa Sun appointed President of Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and CEO of AIG Hong Kong, subject to regulatory approval.

The appointment was announced by Scott Leney, Regional President of AIG Asia Pacific. Sun brings extensive market experience, established relationships with clients and brokers, and a track record of supporting business performance across the region.

In her expanded role, Sun will oversee AIG’s businesses in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. AIG said the appointment is intended to strengthen coordination across its Asia Pacific operations, with a focus on cross-border collaboration, innovation and continued support for clients and distribution partners.

AIG has also announced that John Wu has been appointed Interim Responsible Person for AIG China.

Wu has been with AIG China for nearly 20 years. During his career with the company, he has held a number of leadership positions, including Manager of Special Risk and Broker Business and Head of Personal Insurance. He was appointed Deputy General Manager in 2025.

Wu has also led its Accident & Health team, contributing to business growth and development within the China operation.

The appointments form part of AIG’s continued focus on its operations across the Asia Pacific region, with Sun taking on broader responsibility for the Greater China markets and Wu providing interim leadership for AIG China.
