Achmea appoints Rogier Peters as Executive Board member and CRO

Dutch insurance company Achmea announces the appointment of Rogier Peters as member of the Executive Board and Chief Risk Officer (CRO), effective October 1, 2026.

Peters will succeed Michiel Delfos, who will resign on the same day.

Peters is an experienced insurance executive and risk management expert with an actuarial background. He has been Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of international insurance company MSIG Europe since 2020.

Prior to this, he served as a consultant at Insify and held CRO roles at Ageas UK and Etiqa. He began his career in actuarial practice at Tillinghast Towers Perrin, Aegon and Fortis.

Bianca Tetteroo, Chair of Achmea’s Executive Committee, said: “Rogier’s appointment strengthens the integrated risk perspective within the Executive Committee. Given his actuarial and international background, I am confident that he will make a valuable contribution to the execution of our 2030 strategy, with a focus on integrated risk management. We are delighted to be able to welcome someone of his caliber and look forward to working with him.”

Jan van den Berg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Achmea, added: “Rogier is a versatile executive with in-depth knowledge of risk management in complex financial institutions. I am pleased that the Executive Board will maintain its full strength. His appointment provides the right balance of expertise, international experience, leadership skills and personality within the Board.”

The Achmea Executive Committee will consist of Bianca Tetteroo (Chairman), Michel Lamie (Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer), Rogier Peters (CRO), Daphne de Kluis, Robert Otto and Lidwien Suur.
