Commercial property and casualty insurer Zurich North America has announced the appointment of Jim Villa as global head of accident and health (A&H).
Villa has nearly 35 years of industry experience and joins Zurich from Arch Insurance Group, where he served as senior vice president of A&H strategy and distribution.
Prior to that, he served as Director of A&H for The Hartford, where he provided leadership and guidance for the company’s resurgence in the specialty A&H market.
Previously, Villa spent 11 years at Chubb, most recently as global head and chief operating officer of A&H Worldwide Life. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Aon Consulting and AIG.
Zurich North America has made a number of recent leadership appointments, including Tom Morelli in the newly created position of head of U.S. energy this month and Matthew Moore in September as executive vice president and group captive head.
