Mosaic Insurance, a specialty insurance company specializing in financial institutions and cyber risks, announced on December 15 the appointment of Sachin Warty as global head of financial institutions and professional liability (FinPro).
Watty’s hiring is part of the firm’s plans to expand its financial institutions and professional liability business lines in North America.
Based in Chicago, Illinois, Warty manages the UK leadership team, which includes Francesca Harland, international head of professional liability, and Jacqueline Hall-Shaw, international head of financial institutions.
As part of the restructuring, Mosaic also promoted two existing executives to help drive market expansion and participation.
Former FI head Tom Dilley and Mosaic Syndicate 1609 deputy active underwriter Danny Clack have been promoted to global head of client engagement and head of international broker engagement, respectively, reporting to global engagement officer Yosha DeLong, while retaining underwriting positions.
“As we approach the five-year mark in 2026, we are at an important inflection point in our company’s evolution,” said Co-CEO Mark Wheeler. “This evolution of strategic leadership is important as we increase client engagement and expand our global franchise of financial professionals defined by deep expertise, market-leading capabilities and true value creation. We welcome Sachin to our team and applaud the progress of all these executives.”
Toby Smith, CEO of Mosaic Americas, commented: “We are delighted to have Sachin join us as we enable Mosaic to continue its rapid strategic growth and increase our finpro buildout while engaging in the market.
“Economic volatility is exacerbating liquidity pressures, governance challenges and increased litigation risk, making robust financial line coverage more important than ever, and we are ready to meet the demand.”
Prior to joining Mosaic, Warty co-led Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance’s (BHSI) U.S. Financial Institutions business for the past five years.
Prior to that, he was the lead underwriter of BHSI, responsible for overseeing financial institutions’ business in the Midwest region of the United States. He also held underwriting positions at CNA and Travelers.
Commenting on his appointment, Warty said: “I’m delighted to be joining Mosaic at such a critical time. The financial specialist market is evolving rapidly and this role provides an incredible opportunity to help shape the future while building solutions that not only address today’s challenges but redefine what is possible for clients around the world.”
“I look forward to working with this outstanding team to drive global strategy, anticipate emerging risks, serve clients and set new standards for excellence across the industry.”
