Walter Voigts-von Foster becomes CEO of Munich Re Africa

Walter Voigts-von Foster has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Munich Re Africa, a role he will hold concurrently with his role as head of non-life insurance.

“It is a privilege to lead such a fantastic team and I am excited about what we will continue to achieve together as we realize our future ambitions,” commented Voyz-von Forster.

He will succeed Nico Conradie, who has been CEO of Munich Re Africa for the past decade.

“I would like to sincerely thank Nico Conradie for his outstanding leadership and the solid foundations he has built. I would like to thank Roland Eckl for his trust and strong support in Munich Re Africa. And a huge thank you to all my colleagues who have made our journey so far so successful!” added Voyz-von Foerster.

A veteran of the industry, Voigts-von Foster has been with Munich Re for almost two decades.

He officially joined the Africa division in 2023 as head of non-life insurance. Prior to this, he served for a year as designated head of non-life insurance for Africa at Munich Re. Prior to that, he served as head of aviation treaties.
