Trawick Holdings expands Lloyd’s market presence with new registered brokerage

Trawick International Limited, a member of Trawick Holdings, a privately owned specialist insurance group offering travel and niche insurance products globally, has confirmed the launch of a Lloyds registered brokerage within the group.

The brokerage was established in partnership with sister company Greenlight Insurance Services Ltd, with both companies operating under the Trawick Holdings umbrella.

Lloyds Brokers is registered through Greenlight Insurance Services Ltd and will trade as Trawick International. Its launch provides the group with a direct link to the Lloyd’s insurance market, allowing business to be conducted on behalf of Trawick Holdings’ insurance brands.

Broker registration enables the group to strengthen its approach to risk placement, capacity procurement and project design across its portfolio, which includes Greenlight and Trawick International, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks and Lloyd’s Market standards.

Greenlight and Trawick International will continue to operate as independent Lloyd’s underwriters. Greenlight will retain its UK underwriter status, while Trawick International will continue as US underwriter.

Both entities will retain authorized underwriting rights for Lloyd’s Syndicate where applicable. The addition of Lloyd’s in-house brokers enhances the group’s placement options while maintaining appropriate independence between the underwriting and broking businesses.

The brokerage will be overseen by Tim Gowler, head of risk management for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Trawick International, who will report to Claire Hargreaves. Gowler has been working with the group for many years and has over thirty years of experience in the Lloyd’s market. He was instrumental in the broker registration process and will be responsible for the broker’s governance and operational oversight.

“I started my career as a home services insurance agent in rural Alabama,” said Daryl Trawick, founder and CEO of Trawick Holdings. “Today, our company is located in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Cayman, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Africa and Asia.

“While I am proud of what has been achieved, I never imagined this. It means a lot to me to see our group join Lloyd’s of London’s list of 350-400 brokers globally.”
