Sydney Sweeney is brushing off the recent controversy surrounding her campaign for the sports betting company Novig with another topless ad for the brand.

Last month, the Euphoria actor was met with fresh controversy when she unveiled an advert for Novig, in which she appeared in different scenes completely nude, save for different types of sporting equipment.

“Novig is just sports,” she reasoned in the clip. “So, they wanted to show… just sports.”

Immediately after the ad premiered, Sydney sparked widespread backlash, with several female athletes and Olympians accusing her of “sexualising” women’s sports.

Olympic gold medallist Ariarne Titmus wrote on Instagram: “How do we live in a world where monetising a woman’s body and sexualising women’s sport is still a thing?”

“When we’re trying to provide role models for young people and young women in sport, we really want to show that it’s about what your body can do, not so much what it looks like,” British athlete Amy Hunt later added.

Clearly unmoved by the backlash, Novig shared a second ad featuring Sydney on Sunday.

Again appearing topless, Sydney says to camera: “There are grown men making spreadsheets to bet on what colour underwear I’m wearing. I mean… I’m flattered?

“There’s insider trading on dictators dying and armies of bots manipulating it all. There’s someone in a bathroom stall betting their 401(k) on a war.”

She adds: “And then, there are people who just trade on sports. Novig is… just sports.”

The Emmy nominee did, however, allude to the furore on Instagram, when she shared a string of nude photo-shoots participated in by leading sporting figures, including Serena Williams, Caroline Wozniacki, Megan Rapinoe, Rob Gronkowski, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jason Kelce.
